Sooo, it was a nice Friday afternoon about 5:00 p.m. and the staff and I were anxious to get off and start our weekends even though I had to staff the library that saturday and anyway We all had the anxious jitters. We are fairly laid back at our library branch and regularly joke with our patrons (I hate using the word customers, ug I don't care if it is the current "trend").

A female patron enters the library in a small hurry and was carrying two of the puppets that we have available for checkout, a rhinoceros and a buffalo. She walks up to my work area and noticing the puppets, I casually comment, "bringing back the wild beasties I see." To this she looks up at me and replies straight-faced "no, the kids are in the car, I'm bringing back the puppets."

Horrified because I could not tell if she was joking, I garbled an apology as I discharged the puppets with a very red face, not sure if I should be embarrassed or laughing.

Cranky Bus Drivers

I have no idea if I should be horribly emberesed or not.

I was born, raised and went to college in the middle of nowhere and the only bus I have ever stepped foot on was a school bus. So I get to move to the big city and thus public transportation comes into play. Sooooo, I got on my first bus today and was, well, um, it was interesting. I had a shiny new bus pass and for the life of me had no idea where it was supposed to be inserted when boarding. The driver, having had a very bad day I'm guessing, was rather irate at my 30 second questioning hesitation and went on to make the rather rude comment of "geeze you act like you've never been on a bus before." After replying that I hadn't, he blessedly had nothing to say. Needless to say, I only felt about 10 inches tall and was rather miffed about the whole thing at the time. Now I am not sure whether its funny or if I just need a good cry from such a stressful day. I think I'm getting a mix of both.

So what is with all of the stupid descisions recently? First I QUIT a good job with BENEFITS from the state and then move to MINNEAPOLIS by MYSELF to get a lously job working with food that won't even cover the rent expense and then my husband desides to quit his job and move up here (thank god) (Many mixed feelings here) and Minneapolis doesn't hire in the summer!

I hate feeling insecure, I'm still going to school, trying to support the two of us and I'm scared out of my dammed mind. I only hope that Cody get s a job soon. We have some savings so even if we don't eat, bills may only be covered for the next few months. I dislike downtown, I don't know anyone or understand where anything is around here.

Also-I thought, I like being on the computer, so I thought I'd pay the $40.00 and try the data entry thing. Its not like I don't have a lot of time now anyway. That and I can't sleep. Well, maybe it will work out.

Oh wow, my husband and I just returned from a two week trip to Germany and a few surrouning countrues (we went to London as well but that wasn't nearly as impressive) and suprisingly all I have to say is that it is one of the most gorgeos countries I have ever seen. It might be because I have lived in the South Dakota Nebraska panhandle reegion for so long that I forgot what green things looked like.

Green everywhere trees, fields and then all of a sudden there are these BRIGHT patches of Yellow! The people in Germany grow these fields of bright yelow flowers for the bee populations and honey distribution. Its almost blinding. There are these cute little villages and windmills and you dont see hardly any powerlines or trash. Everything is sooooo clean.

Bad news, the aiport scan demagnatised the viewing creen of our brand new camera-I don't know if it is still underwarrenty, we had it since december.

Good news, we took lots of pictures with a bunch of disposables. :-)

Bad news, we have no idea if they have survided the scans either, the security to get bakc into country refused to let us walk through the metal detctor with them, they had to be scanned as well?!

So in unknown news-we have no idea if there are pictures or not.

Whooohooooo, I am actually not procrastinating! :-)

Actually, I'm too tired and its too late to do so. Why do I constantly tire out by 9:30 p.m.? Its really irritating and I feel bad becuase all of my friends are rather understanding and don't mind if I pass out during gatherings.

I have this absolute idiotic paper that is fighting me the entire way. But I got nearly a a whole page (jump for joy and toast nuts).

But in two weeks exatly, my husband and I will be on a flight to Germany! Yay from there to Ireland and Greece! Yay and I will also be finished with school until June!

I tried I tried but there just weren't enough shiny things!

Grades for Online Info and Cataloging

I just finished another semester of online classes form graduate school and boy I thought there were a few areas that were going to get me in the end.

Whew, I really thought I had blown it for a few days. I just finished checking my grades for Online Information Management and Cataloging and I was sure I'd tripped up somewhere. Looks like I'll finish the semester with an A in both classes so my GPA should go up again and undo the damage of last semester. Granted though it was just a B it really blew my GPA to heck and gone. I'm not a A fanatic but you only get so many tries in grad school and the last B was close enough to a C to give me fits. No slacking off for me.

I'm also starting my countdown! 4 more classes and I am finished! happy dance...So roughly another two semesters because I only take two classes at one time and work full time as well. Two this srping, one this summer as that is the only time its offered, (took two last summer and nearly pulled out my hair), and one more this next fall so I will also have time to work on the graduation portfolio. Granted by only taking one class at a time fin aid does not apply but maybe if the scholarship applications go well and I save a little, it'll work out.
